America is a car-loving country. That includes Nebraska. According to a recent survey of Omaha’s downtown and midtown workers by sustainability consulting firm Verdis Group, nearly 80 percent drive solo to work. And that survey included only 8,500 people out of the metro’s nearly 1 million. A full-city survey could increase that percentage. Even given the very real issues of climate change, healthier living and personally cheaper alternative transportation, we cling to our cars.
Nebraska also had more than 36,000 traffic crashes in 2018, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation. That’s probably not going to change a lot anytime soon. Which means a bunch more of us will be afoot and looking for a good collision repair place. And we want someone we can trust to do the job right and as inexpensively as possible.
South of downtown along John F. Kennedy Expressway in Bellevue is a real winner—Offutt Collision Repair. Founded in 1966, OCR is a family-owned business. Owners Chad and Julie Kunkel have proudly established a community-oriented business that focuses on exceptional customer service and quality workmanship backed by a lifetime warranty. The shop has a list of awards as long as your arm, and the excellent reviews and testimonials are plentiful. From dings and dents to major collisions, OCR can handle the job.
Tiffany Brown, marketing director, could be the person you’ll connect with first at OCR, but she’s only one of the friendly faces packed into OCR. She’s also the go-to person for building community relationships with such entities as the local chambers of commerce, insurance agents, Offutt AFB, schools and businesses. OCR is committed to community involvement in many ways, including for such fun things as its annual Chili Competition and the Dip the Chip event.
Tiffany was born and raised in southwestern Tennessee. She’s a proud military wife and came to Omaha in 2010 when her husband was transferred to Offutt AFB. She hired on at OCR as director of First Impressions in 2016, earning a promotion to marketing director in early 2019. Tiffany will also likely be a customer one of these days—she’s the mother of three boys.
