A hearty hoorah to the town of Spa in eastern Belgium! That’s purportedly where the name for those luscious downtime emporiums comes from. Although some would argue we’d have to give due credit to the Romans first, then the Greeks for the actual practice of relaxing into a vast bath and letting it work its magic.

Modern-day spas go further, usually involving a range of services from massages that work out every kink and cramp in our tired, stressed-out bodies to lash extensions, pedicures and more. Many spas are standalone businesses with a staff of licensed technicians. They are sometimes attached to beauty salons, where the environment may be much noisier. Or they could have long, maze-like hallways where a trail of breadcrumbs to retrace our steps may be needed.

But there’s a new concept coming to the metro this fall—Beautiful Soul Spa Suites. Its mission is twofold: to help wellness technicians get a leg up into their own business space and to bring clients a choice of services in an environment determined to make them “feel beautiful from the inside out,” according to owner/operator Jordan Felise.

Indiana-born Jordan grew up in York, Nebraska, from age 3. But she jumped to Omaha in 2010 to attend esthetics school and never looked back. Jordan, the entrepreneur behind the concept, has been a licensed esthetician and certified lash extensionist for almost 10 years and knows how effective a personal spa space can be. She wanted to help other technicians because she knows from experience the stress of setting out on your own.

Jordan also understands how important it is for a client to find a soothing, relaxing experience, and she wants to ensure that happens here, too. Beautiful Soul—named in honor of her late grandmother—has eight tranquil private suites (no winding hallways!), and a technician can claim one as his or her own without the costs and hassles of full spa ownership. Facility management and maintenance is handled for them. Professionals can manage their own schedules, decorate their own spaces, set individualized prices and offer the products they trust most.

Jordan stressed that it’s “not just about outer beauty.” Anyone can work out the kinks. But they’ll work on “creating beauty on the outside and making a client feel good inside,” as well. Clients will leave feeling refreshed inside and out.

Beautiful Soul is tentatively scheduled to open Sept. 1. Clients can visit the website beautifulsoulspasuites.com to find a list of technicians and the services offered. To learn more, contact:
